.VZ format is a controversial non-formal but-majority-rules 'snapshot' file format for all BASIC and BINARY files for most VZ Emulators. Created by Brian Murray in 1999.
.VZ file format can easily be converted into standard windows PCM .WAV file format for playback into physical VZ computers via the VZ's cassette port.
.CAS - cassette file image. MAME/MESS(?)
.CVZ - formal cassette file image. JVZ200, DSVZ200, WINVZ300.
.DSK - 80Kb disk image used by VZEM, MESS emulators.
.DVZ - 80kb disk image used by DSVZ200 and WINVZ300 emulators.
Note, there are three different emulated disk file formats, early & late VZEM .DSK, and DSVZ200/WINVZ300 .DVZ formats. VZEM20/22 included a switch to load in the early version. However all three are incompatible with each other. Two formats have track sector indicator/length bugs.
An enterprising software developer needs to create a manipulator load-convert-save utility for all three versions.

POWER LOADER : It is necessary to load the maximum energy from the spatial bases avoiding to be distinguished from the alien cockroaches
ALIEN : Space monsters attack the earth. The big vulture will try to destroy you.
BOXE : Boxing match on 7 rounds. Avoid ending up too thick. Only with joystick.
F-104: Action game in the skies in search of enemy planes. Very fast, it provides 3 levels of difficulty. Only with joystick.




GAMES - created with MPAGD.
These are games that have been created with Jonathons, Kees and Jason Oakleys Multi Platform Arcade Game Designer. Written in a simple BASIC-type lanaguage, and then compiled into a Binary through a compiler which utilises highly optimised Z80 assembly routines specifically written for the VZ / Laser. Quite a number of these are written for modified SG7 video, which is mono-colour with a resolution of 256x192, aka "The VZ German video hack". Two emulators VZEM and WinDSVZ200 support this resolution, and these games are quite playable. A few games are also written for the Australian video hack that supports 128x96 in 4 colour.
